Charles Wilder Oakes and the Muses of Port Clyde
Born and raised in the town of Port Clyde, Maine, Charles Wilder Oakes has built an artistic career drawing on the inspirations his home town has provided. While creating paintings that tell the story of his life, as well as that of the sleepy fishing village he calls home, Oakes strives for themes that transcend physical place and reach for a spiritual setting we can all trace roots to. This documentary by filmmaker Dale Schierholt ( Will Barnet: Tracing the Soul of the Work ) offers an insight into this unique artist's life and process while revealing the myriad of muses that flow from the town of Port Clyde Maine.
